About me
Radkeem Sims
Fashion Designer
Radkeem Sims, was born in Texas, father was in the military so we would live in many places like Germany and Colorado where he was stationed. During my elementary years in Colorado, we moved back to Texas in 2001 where I grew up and spent all my times there. I graduated from Mansfield Timberview High School in Arlington, Texas in 2009, after that I had every intention going off to college for a higher education. Growing up I would stay up really late with my older brother and watch a ton of anime shows that would inspire me to draw and think about the future. As I started to mature and develop creatively, I then became interested in becoming an architect planning out landscaping ideas and designing houses something like an interior design but I was utterly confused about my life. I was subjective to go to attend a two-year college that I was never interested in which had no degree of fine arts or fashion program. After those two years, I finally got out and transferred without getting any type of degree to the University of North Texas which my life had changed drastically both mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Applying for the fashion program at North Texas and not getting accepted has really set fuel to my fire to never give up and try again. A year later, I reapplied and worked so hard that I finally got accepted and pass the prerequisites courses. From that point I took every constructive criticism to heart, applied it to my craft, work long hours from home and studio classes understanding construction and fit, I drive an hour and fifteen minutes each to school and back every day, and altogether just working hard to become someone successful to help make a difference in the fashion business!
